About the Author:
Painter Gregor Pratneker (1973) started painting in the nineties. He lives and creates in Maribor. In 2006, he graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Education in Maribor with the thesis "Painting Views of Maribor" (Dr. Ciglenečki, Krašna). Between 2007 and 2012, he studied post-graduate at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, where he also received a master's degree in 2012 with the thesis "Abstraction and deformation of forms in my painting" (Dr. Muhovič, Lenardič). In the last creative period, I mainly focus on landscapes - forests, which I can paint plein air or in the studio. In 2013, he received the first prize of the May Salon, awarded by ZDSLU. Already in 2014, he managed to convince the French jury of the Autumn Salon in Paris with the painting "Winter Morning", which was awarded the first prize by ZDSLU the year before. Since then, he has exhibited regularly at all three important Paris salons; Autumn Salon, Salon of Fine Arts and Salon of French Artists. In December 2019, at the Salon of Fine Arts in the Louvre, he received the Eugene Boudin painting prize, named after the famous French landscape painter, for his painting "Spring in the Mountains". In February 2020, he received the Mention award at the Salon of French Artists in the Grand Palace.
